NAESCO Webinar on the 179D Tax Deduction

March 21, 2016, 2:00 - 3:00 PM ET

The NAESCO 2016 Webinar Series will kick-off on Monday, March 21 from 2:00-3:00 pm ET with Applying 179D for Maximum Benefit.

Presenting are NAESCO members, David Diaz, Director of Business Development, Walker Reid Strategies and Paula Pyles, Managing Member, Concord Energy Strategies

In 2005, Congress enacted the Energy Policy Act of 2005, also known as EPAct, creating the Energy Efficient Commercial Building Tax Deduction, which recognizes the impact commercial buildings have in the overall U.S. energy consumption. The tax incentive was created as a means to provide building designers a way to incorporate more energy efficient design choices in their projects as a way to offset the larger project cost.

The extension is good for two years and now runs through December 31, 2016, and the deduction is permitted retroactively for 2015.

You will not want to miss this opportunity to learn about:

  • the benefits of the 179D tax deduction to the ESCO industry
  • the three subsystems eligible for the deduction
  • the impact on 2016 projects due to changes to the ASHRAE 90.1-2007 Standard
  • the process required to qualify for the deduction and,
  • what the future holds for Section 179D
