On February 9, 2017, SWEEP conducted a training to educate and encourage the building of Zero Energy Ready Homes (ZERH). Local, builders, raters, manufactures, officials and community leaders attended the training. Sam Rashkin with the Department of Energy instructed the group on “The Easy Lift from ENERGY STAR Certified Homes” and Colorado builders Thrive and Philgreen Constructions spoke about their ZERH and Zero Net Energy (ZNE) homes. They were the “Voice of a Builder”. Providing stories of, how their companies evolved, challenges, key lessons learned and recommendations into becoming ZERH builders.
