NASEO K-12 School RFI Discussion Session for State Energy Offices

April 20, 2022, 3:00 - 5:00 PM ET

NASEO will host a discussion session for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and State Energy Offices on April 20, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. ET. The discussion session will be an opportunity for State Energy Offices to learn about and provide input on the DOE Request For Information on the $500 million, five year, K-12 schools program under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (Section 40541) (RFI responses due May 18, 2022). K-12 schools and school districts are eligible for this DOE competitive grant program, and funding may be used for energy efficiency upgrades, renewable energy projects, and alternative fuel vehicles and support equipment. State Energy Offices have deep expertise in engaging with local governments and schools on energy issues and can play an important role in this DOE program by providing schools with energy expertise, as well as programmatic and administrative support to apply for and implement energy projects in schools.

This NASEO hosted K-12 School RFI stakeholder session will provide an opportunity for the State Energy Offices to exchange information with DOE and inform the development of this important program. The session is scheduled for Wednesday April 20, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. ET to 5:00 p.m. ET. To register for the states only session, please contact Ed Carley, Senior Program Director (ecarley@naseo.org).
