Financing Committee Discussion on Inflation Reduction Act Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund Opportunities

NASEO’s Financing Committee will host a session to discuss the climate financing provisions in the recently-passed Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. The IRA represents an opportunity for State Energy Offices to establish, oversee, and/or recapitalize entities that finance climate investments in their states using Federal funds as seed capital. Speakers will provide an overview of the provisions in the IRA pertaining to climate finance and discuss how State Energy Offices can best position themselves to take advantage of these funds to establish climate financing entities. The Committee will then engage in a discussion on next steps for this issue.
