NASEO Webinar: Equitable Access to Energy Savings through Community Solar

November 14, 2017, 3:00 - 4:00 PM ET

Please join the NASEO Renewable Energy Task Force on Tuesday, November 14 from 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm ET for a webinar on Equitable Access to Energy Savings through Community Solar.

The solar energy industry has seen explosive growth in the past decade, with year-over-year record breaking capacity additions that have resulted in over 42 GW of solar capacity installed in the US as of the end of 2016.  While this provides enough energy to power 8.3 million homes, the majority of the country is still unable to take advantage of the benefits of solar energy due to factors such as unsuitable location, community living conditions, or limited access to capital/financing.  Such challenges are especially prevalent among low-income households, which account for less than 5% of solar installations nationwide.

This webinar will examine the role State Energy Offices are playing in providing equitable access to clean energy savings and explore examples of innovative programs designed to expand solar market potential through community solar.
