The Changing Faces of the US Natural Gas Market - From Shale Revolution to Grid Transformation

May 16, 2019, 5:30 - 8:00 PM EDT
Bloomberg

New York City, NY 10017

A confluence of events has changed the complexion of US natural gas markets. Production growth due to shale has made US gas relatively cheap and constantly battling pipeline bottlenecks.  In addition, US LNG export capacity has linked global markets and created an outlet for cheap US gas.  This has had implications for global pricing and storage. Finally, growth in renewable power generation and the retirement of the coal and nuclear fleet has changed the way gas-fired generation is used in the US power grid.  As these three trends continue, natural gas will continue to play an expanding role between the traditional energy supply chain and the new one.

Please join the Energy Forum and Bloomberg for a joint panel discussion to explore the evolving trends in US natural gas, the market challenges and implications. Jason Lemme, the Energy Forum board member and managing director at Hartree Partners, will lead and moderate the discussion..
